There will be an employment counselor at Lehigh Community Services, located at 9 Beth Stacey Blvd. Suite 206, on March 17th between the hours of 9:30A.M. - 11:30 A.M.   They will be there to assist with interview skills, resume writing and other job seeker tools.  This service will be available twice a month.  If you would like an appointment with the counselor call 931-8200.

They have students at Lehigh Senior High and at Varsity Lakes middle that have been awarded scholarships and they need mentors for them.

Dear Festival & Parade Fans!
It is almost that time again: For the Annual Lehigh Spring Festival & Grand Parade!
You may want to get your platform shoes, bell bottoms and leisure suits out of the closet, as we are going Disco this year with "STAYIN' ALIVE" This year's theme will represent the endurance of Lehigh Acres and its wonderful citizens. Even with difficult economic times, we are standing strong and are "Stayin' Alive".
You can look forward to another spectacular, breathtaking and "grooving" Grand Parade, which will convert the center of Lehigh Acres into one giant disco. As in previous years, the parade will start as in promptly at 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 27, 2010, and will wind down Homestead Road between Beth Stacey Boulevard and Arthur Avenue.
The judge's tent and parade narrators will be located in front of the SunTrust Bank on Homestead Road. If you will be part of the parade, make sure to put your smile on, and show our judges that you deserve a trophy! If you will be just watching and enjoying the parade from the sidelines along Homestead Road, make sure you'll cheer on each and every parade participants as they make their way down the parade route. Our always cheerful and funny parade narrators, Danny Stephenson and Vicki Culver, will entertain you while enjoying the show. And who knows, Vicki might even bring a disco ball along!
  I sure hope that you will enjoy the 2010 Spring Festival Parade and that you will join us at the Veterans Park for some great food, drinks and entertainment during our nine day Spring Festival. Don't forget, the festival will kick off on Friday, March 19, 2010!

Nearly a year ago, the Lehigh Acres Weed and Seed Steering committee contacted the staff of Lehigh Acres Live and asked us to be their voice on the Internet. In support of their efforts, we agreed and a close working partnership was born.

The Lehigh Acres Weed and Seed project has gained a strong foothold in Lehigh Acres and is well onto a very successful program.

Now that the Weed and Seed project is well under way it is time they project their goals and successes on their own website. The staff from Lehigh Acres Live has agreed to assist in this next step. We have been working with the steering committee and has completed the new official site, which ultimately will be run and operated by the Media Relations committee.

This new website will provide you with much of the same information Lehigh Acres Live has given you for the past year, but they have decided to provide you with more information via an electronic newsletter/notification process. The opt in/opt out option on the new website will provide you with:

• Monthly Newsletters from the Weed and Seed Media Relations Committee
• E-Watch Notification:  This special notification will be used for extremely important or critical information affecting our community.
• Upcoming Events
• Upcoming Youth Events

The Lehigh Acres Weed and Seed has gone live as announced in the News Star article. You can view the new website at www.LehighAcresWeedandSeed.com.

Make sure you go to the “Newsletter” page and sign up for the electronic newsletters while you are there.

The website is still growing, and each committee/subcommittee will be responsible for posting their documents, photos and specific information about their committees. So check back there often.
