Yay for this post. =) Please keep this in mind all year long too. Last year a boy on my daughter's bus was killed by a car in Lehigh Acres while waiting for his bus to come. It was a terrible tragedy, and it should have never happened.

I agree it never should have happened. All people need to do is pay attention and slow down. I know some accidents are just that, accidents but so many could have been prevented.

We as parents have a responsibility to teach our children to be aware of their surroundings and pay attention whenever they are not under our supervision. Besides traffic, there is also the stranger danger issue. Many children here in Lehigh have been approached by strangers on their way home from the bus stop. Knowing what to do in these situations can save a child from injury or death.
