Sunday Night shortly after dark I started seeing the Helicopter flying in the area between Joel Blvd & Bruce Street and 12 St NE & 10St NE. Stayed in that 10-12 block area for around 1 hour, with ground units all over the place. I thought they were after a bad guy so I turned on my outside flood lights and let out all my dogs into my fenced in back yard and walked them all around it to make sure noone was in my yard that shouldn't be there. There wasn't.

Shortly b4 the Helicopter left the area we got a call from a neighbor that told us they were looking for a second wolfdog maybe in our area.

The paper is reporting that 1 dog escaped from the truck, but we are hearing that 2 escaped.

One was shot on Sunday night a block away from my house, from what I am hearing. It had been getting into the peoples garbage for a couple days now and they kept scaring it off, not knowing about the escapee's on the loose. The daughter, which is the only one in the family that speaks/understands English, was watching TV Sunday night and seen the report about the dog's escaping and realized right away that it was one getting into their garbage, so she called the sheriff's. They came and located the suspect dog and shot it. it sounds like it was one, but then they started searching the area from the ground and air for a second one, hoping they would be traveling together.

How many Dogs escaped 1 or 2?

also I am really curious, does anyone know why the Animal services truck was in Lehigh with such a dangerous load to begin with, seeing the dogs were picked up in Buckingham, according to the NP, Lehigh is the total opposite direction that they should have been heading, IF they were taking the dangerous ones to the pound right away. Maybe Animal Services needs to review their policies and procedures. If the officer was in Lehigh to pick up another Animal, well that shouldn't be given the cargo he already has onboard. It's like driving a couple murderers away from the direction of the jail to pick up a jaywalker in the next town over. It kinda happened like that.

I hope they didn't shoot the dog and if they did they sure are keeping it quiet. I was also wondering about why animal control was in Lehigh when the dogs were picked up in Buckingham. Something just doesn't add up here.

I dunno if they did or not. I never heard any gun fire. All I know is they were out in force for around an hour, then a neighbor called and said to keep our dogs inside (after I let them out) because they killed one and searching for the other, and that was Sunday night. I too can not find any info to verify this even happened, besides seeing the helicopter and ground units searching with spotlights myself.

Heck that all could be false and they were looking for a bad guy, which is what I thought until the neighbor called.

Just announced the LCSO shot the dog 5 times this morning and it didn't die. They were going to put it down on the scene but didn't have the proper drugs. The poor creature died on the way to animal services to be put down.
Very sad.

I am glad all the dogs are accounted for. Hopefully it wasn't shot simply because it was part wolf. Where was it located?

Can you inform us what was happening Sunday evening with the helicopter and ground units in eastern lehigh?

I wish the dogs could have been released into the wild.
LE did a good job though in keeping the community safe.

"They were going to put it down on the scene but didn't have the proper drugs."

You mean they didn't have a 45 caliber round to put in its brain? Think for a minute, what's more humane: shooting it in the head for instant death or dragging it around with five bullets in it looking for "proper drugs"?
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
