Just wanted to send out a Thank You for the quick response and quick resolution of the situation in my Parking lot this morning at my baitshop!
Called 911, just over 2 minutes later 2 Sheriff's deputies, EMS and Rescue was on scene.
It was pretty neat watching them at work. the 2 Deputies approached first to secure the scene then the EMS moved in.
OK, here is the story:
Got to work this morning and discovered a car in the rear parking lot. I didn't think much about it other then it's a bummer they left their windows down. It just got done raining. I didn't recognise the car, but there are apartments above my baitshop so I assumed it was someone up there. Opened up my shop, took zoe (My rat terrier) for a walk. Walked past the car in question and to my suprise there was someone in it's drivers seat, slumped kinda under the steering wheel, soaking wet from the rain. I talked loudly to try to get a response and nothing happened. That's when I called 911. turned out to be a woman NOT from my building or surrounding area, just someone who did have a little to much to drink last night and decided to sleep it off. After checking her out and letting the EMT's check her out she was allowed to drive away, just a little sleepy. I wish I had my camera ready when the woman woke up to 7 people standing around her car. Her facial expression was too funny.
Once again. Thank you!!!
All too many times I have seen those facial expressions. A couple times, I have responded where a driver waiting for a red light fell asleep in the car with their foot on the brake. We arrive, and they are asleep at the wheel. Quite a touchy situation.
Do you just wake them, or attempt to turn off the engine before you wake them. You decide. . . what would you do? Remember, the car is running, it is in gear, they are asleep, and their foot is on the brake for now. What do you do?
