LEE COUNTY: Four boys, all under the age of 15, are each facing serious burglary charges. Deputies say the boys broke into a home in Lehigh Acres and stole things like video games and movies.

Detectives say two 10-year-old boys, along with a 12 year-old and 14 year-old, broke into Raquel Mangan's Lehigh Acres home.

"They took video games, like an X-box, money, and movies," she said.

Luckily though, deputies recovered all of those items.

"They went inside the kid's room and they give us our things back," Managan said.

Deputies say they found all the stolen stuff in an abandoned house located just a few doors down from the home of two kids charged in the burglary. They are brothers and their mother, Sandra Munez, is still upset.

"It's the first time it happened," she said.

She says her youngest son, 10 year-old Livan, was coaxed by the older boys.

"My little one says it was the other two kids that were with them," she said.

All four boys were arrested and taken to jail.

Kick their little behinds right to juvie and let them stick around for awhile. It's only going to get worse as they get older. And ofcourse it's never the mothers fault, yea I'm sure she had no idea her kids would do such a thing..please!!

No, make them watch nothing but Gene Autry movies for a year.

Juvie would just surround them with even worse kids that could teach them how to become even worse criminals. Locking up young children doesn't help fix the problem. The parents need to be more involved in the childrens lives and not allow them to run wild.

This is not the only preteen crime in Lehigh. I am constantly haunted by an 11 year old and 15 year old with a mile long criminal history in their short life, breaking into my home and stealing every electronic, piece of jewlery and tools I owned. I chose to prosecute. They came back 3 days later and stole everything else. Three months later they came back and stole my car (with the spare key they had stolen out of a purse). I had to fight my way through the local system to get help, even when I found the thieves joyriding in my car myself.. followed them, reported it and got nothing but grief in recovering it. One e-mail to Mike Scott the same night within 30 minutes.. got me an arrest and confession for not only my car theft but my two home burglaries! The problem of juvenile crime is not a local issue as much as it is a State Issue! Believe me I spoke loud and clear, heard from front line, went through the whole judicial system losing time from work trying to prosecute, while the little thieves never showed up for over two years! The last court appearance I sat with 15 other victims of the juveniles. The main one moved to West palm Beach and was told I would have to file all over again to proscute him. What a joke! It is a State problem and out local Sheriffs Dept is just as frustrated as me. They arrest them over and over with no help from the state in prosecuting them. The 11 year old an 15 year old hafve a rap sheet of 8 or more burglaries since. Our local sheriff's dept can only do so much.. and they are frustrated too.. it is our STATE that needs a wake up call and change! I live in fear daily and while Mike Scott does what he can do in his powers locally , his hand are tied by the state. Anyone want to go to Tallahasse to help them ?

Incredible story. I am so sorry you had to endure this hardship, but I am glad you were not physically injured if they had entered your home while you were there.

Thanks for being persistent. What you did will help out your neighbors and your community.

It just burns me that the reinforcement we send these juveniles is that it's ok to do unjust things to others. The pay off is far greater for them to steal or hurt others. It's our legal system that allows it!
