I just wanted to thank everyone in the community for supporting our annual Fire Prevention and Safety Day. We had a great turnout and a fun time. I especially want to thank:

Principle Dwayne Courtney and the staff at Lehigh Elementary School. Great support from great people.

East Lee County ROTC.. 29 students came out and worked their hearts out. We hear a lot about all the trouble kids get into but my hats are off to these great kids.

Jacks Market. Every year Jack helps this community in many ways, one of which is providing hundreds of hot dog buns. His market is a true friend of the community and fire district.

Publix. They donated a $100 gift certificate. Thanks to them as well.

Spouses: My wife and many others came out and worked in the kitchen, spun cotton candy or slushed up snow cones. Good people with big hearts.

I rushed my posting yesterday due to the house fire on Naples Ave. and needed to add a few things.

For the first time we decided to accept donations for the food. It was kind of a last minute idea but I thought it would be good to accept donations for Lehigh Community Services, which is about the only organization that is Lehigh centered and helps the needy of Lehigh. Thanks to the generousity of the community $141 was raised. Thank you to all.

And I also want to thank Lehigh Acres Live and the Lehigh Citizen for helping get the word out. I believe both provide a great service to the community.
