The Chairman of the Pine Island/Matlacha Fire Commission resigned today when his reelection to the Commission was imminent over the board voting to raise taxes in their District 14%.

Taxpayers and Property Owners in Lehigh Acres should be very happy that the LAFD Fire Commission voted to keep your millage rate the same per $1,000 of taxable value as last year. That is 26% less then the rollback rate from FY 2007/2008. The LAFD is working with a budget that is almost $10 Million Dollars less than last years due to the decline in taxable value of properties in Lehigh Acres.

Vote for Jeff Berndt, Joel Guzman and David Adams November 4th.
