Tuesday September 23rd at 5:01PM The Lehigh Acres Fire Commission will have their final budget hearing.

It has been on the LAL calendar for a while however I wanted to let everyone know one more time in case anyone wanted to attend and make public comment.

No need to attend because our Watchdog will be there to wrong any rights, I mean right any wrongs.

This afternoon at 5:01PM the Lehigh Acres Fire Commission voted unanamously in adopting the FY 2008-2009 Budget resolution.

The tax rate has stayed the same as last years budget at 2.7517 mills or 26.70% less than the rollback rate of 3.7659 mills. The FY 2008-2009 Budget totals $26,991,772.00

The rather large candidate spoke at the end when the vote was over that he could "cut $300,000 from the budget in 2 seconds." He never spoke up in before the vote was finalized and he had every opportunity to do so as the Chairman opened the floor for public comment before the vote was taken and after the vote was finalized.

After the meeting was adjourned the rather large candidate mumbled "What a pony show" over several times and then wanted to make sure to get a quote in with the local newspapers in attendance.

Another candidate in attendance only sat staring into space and never made any comment.

What this means to property owners is if your taxable value has gone down this year which it should have you will pay less in Ad-Valorem taxes.
