COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF LEHIGH ACRES TO HOST

CANDIDATE FORUM AUGUST 5TH AT 6p.m.

The Community Council of Lehigh Acres will host a Community Candidate Forum on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lehigh Senior High School at 901 Gunnery Road in Lehigh Acres.  Among the over 40 candidates scheduled to appear are candidates for U.S. Representative, Governor, State Representative, State Senate, County Commission, Lee County Court Judge, School and Hospital Boards, Mosquito Control, ECWCD and Fire Commissioner.  All local, state, and federal level primary and general election candidates were invited.  For more information regarding the Candidate Forum contact Tami Baker at www.LehighCouncil.com.

Large crowd turns planners meeting into complaint session

I was there and listened to the comments that did not have anything to do with the task at hand. The presentation on the need for this process, the goals and some of the benefits to Lehigh was good. Many in attendance just wanted to air their frustrations which was a shame because this meeting could have been very educational.

Nevertheless, the work will continue to move forward. Hopefully this effort will make quick progress and avoid some pitfalls.
