I am getting just plain fed up with people dumping trash all over the place. Right around the corner on Gene, someone dumped a heaping pile of garbage. This is strewn trash, garbage bags with trash, misc debris. I swear if I ever catch any moron dumping trash around here, their ass is getting reported and i'll be snapping their pic. I'd beat their arse, but that wouldn't do any good anyway. It's not like this was some kind of pile of lumber or appliance, it's ordinary trash that they could have easily set of for pick-up. People, what is so damn hard about setting the trash in front of your house? I'm not about to go out there and clean it up. God knows what nastiness lurks. I don't have a truck so I can't just go moving it around. There is more crap down my street. A heaping pile of telephone cable, tons of cans full of latex paint, part of a small fridge, a broken chair...etc etc. Who cleans this stuff up?

Contact Code Enforcement. They will come out and see who would be responsible for the garbage. If it is in the right of way, they will take care of it. If it is on private property, they will contact the owner.

Those people who dump are just plain stupid. In Lee County whatever you leave in front of your house for trash pickup has to be picked up. The reason why our trash pickup fee is included in our taxes was because people wouldn't pay for trash pickup so instead they would dump trash out on the backroads. I have turned several illegal dumpers in.

What happens to someone who gets caught dumping what is the fine? Maybe it's not a high enough fine?
Maybe some warning signs would help and put on the signs what the fine is. Anyone have any ideas how to stop all this dumping?

It's not in the right of way. It's off on the side of the road. This trash was recently dumped. I've seen other stuff get dumped here many times before. It eventually gets picked up by someone. Yeah, once someone left a damn busted up trailer , a large dump like trailer full of old lumber, in the middle of the very same road. What an eyesore! The other stuff I mentioned is off to the side of the road on my street. It's about 1 block down, but the fact that it sits there and has been sitting there for almost a year ..thanks, I will call code enforcement. What is the correct phone number if I may ask? Thanks LM.

Well I didn't have to call CE for that rubbish pile on the corner. City maintainance guys were out mowing the sides of the roads and they must've reported it..cause it's now gone. I have to check and see if the other mess of wires and paint are still down there.

And now, the mess continues. Some dipsh** just dumped a damn couch on the side of 54th st just a couple days ago. I did not see it get dumped, but it wasn't there 2 days prior. And down meadow rd, another heaping ass pile of trash just appeared. Friggin idiot people! This is becoming a weekly occurance. Looks like I will be calling CE first thing monday. Something NEEDS to be done to curb this problem. It is getting WAY OUT OF CONTROL. I will NOT have trash piling up in my neighborhood, PERIOD!

I am so sorry to hear about more dumping in your neighborhood. I feel we need to be enforcing laws or adopting stricter ordinances! Anyone have any ideas? I think somehow we need to get the word out there that the law will be enforced and then show that it is enforced!!! Those's that are caught should provied Lehigh Acres with many hours themselves, of collecting trash along our roads!

It should be a $5000 fine for dumping..MINIMUM. If you don't want to get fined, be a smart person and dispose of something like it should.. NOT on the side of the road or on or near someone elses property. This area of Lehigh seems to be a haven for illegal dumpers. There is always something being dumped around here. If it isn't a couch or a pile of trash, it's tires everywhere or a pile of construction debris that some contractor was too lazy to haul it off to the landfill or a dumpster.

The couch was gone as of this morning (monday). At least i'm not the only one who cares around here.

Maybe a request to our county commissioners to increase the fine for dumping!

If the trash is in the road right of way call Lee County Solid Waste.  Stece Parsons 839-477-1422.

If it is on private property call code enforcement. Bill Keeler 239 599-5869.

See if you can get a response/action from these people.

Sometimes it is more important to know a persons' motives that what a person says.
