BTW according to the LCSO the General Public is not welcome at the sub-committee meeting.

The meetings are accroding to the Weed & Seed documents are and should be open to the public

Page 2 of the manual

It also recognizes the importance of community participation. Community residents must be centrally involved and empowered to assist in solving problems in their neighborhoods.

other sad day for Lehigh Acres

Community participation is essential to the success and funding of this project. Residents (people) in their neighborhoods must be involved in order to effect change and insure the longevity of the positive results the combined effort achieves, otherwise failure will occur. There are many ways and a multitude of activities that need to be tackled, anyone willing to help should be utilized. Sometimes the challenge is to match up the talents, experience and energy individuals bring to the effort. This program is just starting out, challenges are going to present themselves and we must strive to take advantage of those challenges. Robert, don't blow this up before someone figures out how lemons can be used to make lemonade.

You bring a very interesting point "challenges", let’s see if we all can remember a few…..
Lehigh Acres CRA, LACPC, City Hood and etc
All good causes but all have had major challenges in Lehigh Acres do to control and leadership issues.
And I hope and pray it will happen to the weed & seed program

By the gods so much drama now of we can focus that drama, crime will drop to zero in our beloved, great ,grand, loving, peaceful, joyful and happy town.

I don't know about DRAMA but I doubt there will ever be enough "focus" to obtain all those lofty descriptions for Lehigh or anyother community of similar size and scope for that matter. It would be nice!

Where are the minutes? I looked here to find out what was actually happening in this committee. Why no report?

I just posted the June minutes. There was a Community Policing function held on June 20, updates to follow. The July meeting was canceled for several reasons but there was some information sent out which I will post on LAL soon. The committee has started meeting once per month instead of every two weeks so the information flow has slowed.

All of the sub committees have been meeting but consistant posting on LAL has been an issue. Organization and lack of central responsibilities is probably the issue with that.

There will be a Lehigh Weed and Seed newsletter issued soon for August. I posted the July edition on the Weed and Seed Steering Comittee page, LAL.
