Don't know if any of you LAL participants are into Kayak or Canoe paddling. If you are you are probably already aware of this. Anyway, I thought I'd post this event for interested parties. The Calusa Blueway was established by Lee County Parks and Rec. and is an extensive network of destinations along the intercoastal waterway and along the Caloosahatchee River. Read on if your interested.

August is upon us; the summer is drawing to a close. 
 
As you find yourselves looking to the fall, keep in mind the most exciting paddling festival in the country: Southwest Florida’s Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival Oct. 25 through Nov. 2.

Yes it does. Might be neat to canoe down the Orange River. Not too far a drive.
