Sir, that is a great question. If i'm elected as ECWCD board member? My office is open for everyone in Lehigh and everyone is invited to talk to me in person @ my work. Whatever the majority people wanted to get it done and we all should respect them. I will work for all the people living in Lehigh. I'm not taking any donation from anybody so nobody can knock on my door say Tyler remember i donate money for your campaign and this is what i need from you.

Mr. Tyler some in this community would like to see us attack eachother. From what I have read and heard you are nice guy. So how about we put that on display and elavate this debate to a real debate about issues and not personal attacks. How about we meet on one on one debates in six fourms over the next three months. Lets allow the community to set up forums and share our ideas. I feel this would give the community a clear choice and airing of the issues. What do you think? |

Mr.Barrett,
I spoke to the press on the other day in regard for all the people in Lehigh run for public office to have a town hall meeting and the voters can tell all of us what they wanted us to do for Lehigh. They said that is a great idea and they are working on it. I signed on last night on NP to ask you a few questions but you have not answer my questions yet. We can have lunch or dinner so we can show people that we can be civil to each other. What do you think about that?

I love the idea of a moderated debate. Now find a neutral person to moderate. It would be nice if the public attending could ask the questions.

I think that is a great idea. It will give the voters of Lehigh a chance to hear the candiates discuss the issues of the operation of the ECWD.
Someone should see if the Lee County chapter of tThe League of Women Voters would be willing to moderate it. They have a long history of moderating fair and balnaced debates.
On another note Mr. Tyler are you aware that if you are elected to the ECWD you will be bound by the Sunshine Law? You might want to become familar with what that law requires of you.

Lee, I think it would be great if we could have a public debate between Tyler and I. I think it's easy to hide behind a keyboard or letters to the editors and miss the point of talking about real issues that matter to the average joe in the community. That is why I am proposing six live debates throughout the community at civic organizations, clubs, and editorial boards.
Tyler, I would be happy to have dinner or lunch on a Saturday with you, supporters, or family. We both care about children and moving our community forward. I look forward to a time and location.

This was a letter I sent to Mr. Tyler after he wrote a nasty letter back to me regarding the debates. He is now listening to Frank and Mike Welch. It's sad because I know how it feels to feel trapped.
Mr. Tyler,
I do not for a moment think that you wrote this piece. This writing style and pronouncements don't sound like you. In fact all one has to do is look at your writings from today, asking me to lunch. It seems that one of your supporters has convinced you that the way to win this campaign is telling falsehoods and throwing out accusations. I would hope Mr. Tyler, that whoever is directing you, that you will push back and say no. A mark of a good strong leader is to be able to even tell friends no, when it does not help the cause. I have learned first hand, that when you allow others to dictate your actions, all you do is sell your soul.
My invitation to you to address the public in six debates over the next three months stand, along with our lunch or dinner meeting.
I look forward to the time of dialogue, question and answer session, and meeting with you.

Response to Mr. Barrett, the insinuation that you wish to move the campaign to higher ground is to little too late, after a minimum four year record of your participation on the ecwcd of wallowing in the swamp. my intent is that after the election to introduce ideas that will bring the board to higher ground and at this late date your suggestion is ridiculous, how can you even begin to justify the damage that the current board has done to the public and our legislators, sir i will not be a participant in a forum that would give you the opportunity to propagandize your poor actions and tax wasting decisions of the past ,that is your problem ,if you wish to try to explain your poor behavior as an elected official pay for an add in the newspaper, i will not be a party to another of your schemes, you put yourself into this mess so you can get yourself out of it---Dewey

Mr. Leemedic, yes i can clear manny things up for you. I have manny people living in Lehigh are helping me out on verything. We have a team of over 200 hundreds people all volunteer. When Mr. Barrett was talking about 6 debate. I let all of my supporters know and what they think. They all came back with the e-mail and i send it to Mr. Barrett and the press. All whole history of the water board nobody ever have any debate. Remember that i do not take any donation from anybody and i will donate my salary after i get elected to Lehigh Community Services. Next time you want me to answer your questions faster just call me @ 303-1775. I see Mr. Barrett as a friend and after all of the campaign are done i still see him as a friend.

How can you say that you see me as a friend, when the bases of your statements all lie within lies of your campaign. Your campaign should not be based on Desmond Barrett, but on your vision for the district. All one has to do is read what you have just wrote, and what you claimed to have wrote to the papers and you will see that they were not written by the same person.
My offer of six debates over the next three months stands. I look forward to the organizations, clubs, and editorial boards who set up the format, and to share my continued vision of the district for the next four years.
