Quickest mtg I've ever gone to tonite. Was held in a VERY SMALL ROOM WHICH I HOPE DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. But from what I hear, it will happen again. Holds 10 less people than Station 1 mtg place. Once the amt of people goes to capacity, then other people have to go to another room out of sight of the commissioners where there are speakers transmitting the mtg but no TV. The cost of renting the library is about $79 and the board decided that they didn't want to spend the money on this monthly rental so future mtgs will be held at station 105. Took a small tour of the bldg. Looked very nice and tax dollars were well spent. I must say it was out in the boondocks. Thought I was going to Miami but finally made it there. Ernie from Lehigh Street Lighting District thanked the FD and others on hanging holiday banners.
Talked about a problem with the front door to 105. Fowler Construction and Sonitrol have been trying to fix it. Attorney Pringle will draft a letter to Sonitrol requesting the door be fixed ASAP. Talked about dropping all uncollected fees from alarm calls. Matter tabled until Jan mtg due to more info needed re how much it actually costs for the FD to respond to a false alarm. New alarm rates are now in effect. Reviewed the amt that the Chief is authorized to approve without board approval ($5000) which includes lease agreements. Executive session afterwards was held
$79? That is all?
yep that's all-think maybe we should leave that item in the budget-very cramped quarters-
